I have recently received a NIP for a speeding offence on the A20 eastbound west of sandy lane to east of cookham lane .
Under the freedom of information act, I request the following information:
A) you have advised that a unauthorised 3rd party installed the 50mph road sign in the incorrect area, can you advise me the name of the contractor ?
B) can you confirm that the original 40mph road signs that were installed were the wrong size? And if correct, advise the diameter.
C)you have reduced the speed limit in this section of the highway due to flooding concerns, can you advise the proposed remedy to this problem and when works are due to take place.

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 4 February 2024 asking for information about the reduced speed limit on the A20.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold some of the information you require. You asked regarding the A20 eastbound west of Sandy Lane to east of Cookham Lane. Under the freedom of information act, I request the following information:
A) you have advised that an unauthorised 3rd party installed the 50mph road sign in the incorrect area, can you advise me the name of the contractor ? B) can you confirm that the original 40mph road signs that were installed were the wrong size? And if correct, advise the diameter. Response:
A) We do not know who installed the 50mph sign you refer to. B) The 40mph signage is not the wrong size - it is as specified for a 40mph carriageway according to Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions. Please see https://tsrgd.co.uk/pdf/tsrgd/tsrgd2016.pdf C) The works, which include drainage works to tackle the ongoing flooding, are currently programmed to commence in May/June 2024.and they are expected to last for approximately 6 months.
