Increase in 'busses proposed for Edgware Garage

Request ID: FOI-3884-2324
Date published: 12 February 2024

You asked

FoI 3200-2324 kindly informed me that "Approximately 90 vehicles are stabled overnight at Edgware garage." A proposal, exhibited during a local consultation in Edgware, is to build a new garage capable of accommodating (probably) three times this number of vehicles. In this case, where will the extra 'busses come from? For example but without imposing any leading question, they could be displaced by the closure of another garage (and, if so, please state which site) or these could be new additions to the fleet in order to expand the service.

We answered

Our ref: FOI-3884-2324

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 26 January 2024 asking for information about Edgware bus garage.

Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and our information access policy.

I can confirm that we do hold the information you require.

We would like to clarify that there are circa 190 buses between the two existing Edgware garages. The existing capacity would be maintained with better space proofing and associated facilities in the new garage.

If you are not satisfied with this response please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.

Yours sincerely,
