You asked
Follow-up to FOI-3695-2324:Good afternoon,
In order to bring this to less than 18 hours work could you please narrow the scope to taxi drivers and exclude private hire vehicles.
Could you further narrow it for keywords: "assault", "intimidating/ threatening behaviour," and "violent behaviour"
Finally could this be narrowed to the London borough of Southwark.
We answered
TfL Ref: FOI-3877-2324
Thank you for your further request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 31st January 2024 asking for information about reports of assaults by taxi drivers.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.
Specifically you asked the following, further to case reference FOI-3695-2324:
“In order to bring this to less than 18 hours work could you please narrow the scope to taxi drivers and exclude private hire vehicles.
Could you further narrow it for keywords: "assault", "intimidating/ threatening behaviour," and "violent behaviour"
Finally could this be narrowed to the London borough of Southwark.”
I can confirm that we hold the information you require.
We have identified a small number of complaints (fewer than 5) that were received in the last 6 months about taxi drivers; were logged with the keywords “assault”; “intimidating/ threatening behaviour" or; "violent behaviour"; and which refer to incidents that took place in the London Borough of Southwark. Given the small number, we believe that it would be possible for the parties involved (i.e. the complainants and the drivers) to identify one another if any further information were released. For this reason, the outcomes of those complaints are being withheld under section 40(2) of the Freedom of Information Act, the exemption that protects against the unfair release of personal data.
Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal as well as information on copyright and what to do if you would like to re-use any of the information we have disclosed.
Yours sincerely,
