Could you please supply me with the daily central line status for the last year please. Details to include minor delays, severe delays and normal status.

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 29 January 2024 asking for information about the status of the Central Line.

Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and our information access policy.

I can confirm that we do hold the information you require. Please see attached spreadsheet.

Time period: 01 January 2023 to 31 December 2023.

Notes about Service Status Messages:
  • The service status message details are based on what was reported on the station Electronic Service Update Board (ESUB) screens. The service status message is based on an assessment of the level of service being offered at the time compared to set criteria guidelines.
  • The amount of time minor or severe delay messages were advertised varies by day.
  • Different status messages for different sections of the line may be advertised at the same time. Example for Central line: "Minor delays between Hainault and Leytonstone via Newbury Park due to a shortage of trains. GOOD SERVICE on the rest of the line".
  • A new row is created every time the status message details are updated, even if the service status remains unchanged.
