We answered
TfL Ref: FOI-3845-2324
Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on24 January 2024 asking for information about the Line Information Specialist role.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold the information you require. Evaluation records for purely operational roles, such as the Line Information Specialist role would have been carried out using the Watson Wyatt methodology. This method is no longer used as the company (Watson Wyatt) cease to exist, merging with Willis Towers Watson back in 2007.
When this role was evaluated (in 1995) using the Watson Wyatt methodology, a trained Human Resources job evaluations representative in the presence of the Employing Manager, Jobholder representative and TU representative completed a questionnaire. The position of the role within the job family i.e. Trains, Station, Service Control, and salary would have been negotiated based on the role’s position within the family, i.e. what was the role above or below paid, to provide a rationale for the salary given.
Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.
Yours sincerely,
