@TfLAccess This happens multiple times a week at around the same time. Is it a gap in rotas so there’s no handover or someone who is always late? Why does it keep happening as it’s several times a week, every week.

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 19 January 2024 asking for information about accessibility at Southfields station on 19 January 2024.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold the information you require. You asked regarding the unavailability of station staff, which impacts step-free access at Southfields tube station. @TfLAccess This happens multiple times a week at around the same time. Is it a gap in rotas so there’s no handover or someone who is always late? Why does it keep happening as it’s several times a week, every week.
We apologise for any inconvenience this can cause and we only make a decision to unstaff a station as a very last resort. There are currently vacancies at Southfields station but we expect these vacancies to be filled from March 2024.
Where step free access is not available, customers requiring assistance can press the help point and request a free taxi to enable them to continue their journey onwards.
