I am interested in obtaining information regarding the amount spent by Transport for London (TFL) on salting and gritting roads. Specifically, I request the following details:
1. The total expenditure by TFL on salting and gritting roads for each year from 2016 to the present.
2. A breakdown of the expenditure, if available, specifying the allocation for materials, personnel, equipment, or any other relevant categories.

Thank you for your request received on 18 January 2024 asking for information about the cost of salting and gritting roads.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act and our information access policy.
Our budget for salting and gritting roads is included in our winter maintenance service, which includes but is not limited to the cost of gritting our roads but also the teams providing emergency services to ensure that the highway remains safe. We are unable to provide a breakdown of those costs on equipment, materials etc.
