Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 13^th February 2025 asking for information about Camden Road bus lane.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. 

Specifically you asked:

“Please would you email me the documents you hold in relation to (i) the original design; (ii) the current design; and (iii) the approval of the bus lane scheme in Camden Road.  The bus lane I am referring to begins at the junction with Camden Street and runs in a south westerly direction for about 100 yards or so.  I am particularly interested in documents (including diagrams) regarding signs and road markings that form part of this bus lane (even if in surrounding roads) and documents and information that detail the approval of this bus lane.”

I can confirm that we hold some of the information you require.

This bus lane was installed over 20 years ago in 2004. Given the passage of time, I am afraid we only hold a limited amount of information in relation to it. The Traffic Order attached is what we hold in relation to Question 3. Note that this Bus Lane was originally peak hour only, changing to “at any time” in 2019/20. We do not hold any material in relation to Questions 1 and 2, but as it is a road marking the design can be seen on the ground via online maps – for example, those that provide a ‘satellite’ view.
