We answered
TfL Ref: 3647-2324
Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 12 January 2024 asking for information about RODS 2023 data.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy You asked: I would be really grateful if you could provide me with the TfL’s Rolling Origin and Destination Survey (RODS) data for the year 2023. Please let me know if it is possible to receive the requested datasets. We do not hold the exact information you have requested - some RODS data is still available on our website however the RODS dataset was last published in 2017;howeversince then it has been superseded by our NUMBAT dataset which provides similar statistics for all TfL-operated rail modes, which is available for the public to access and is periodically updated here: http://crowding.data.tfl.gov.uk/
Note that NUMBAT 2023 is due to be published by the end of March 2024. The main difference between RODS and NUMBAT is that NUMBAT is a much, much larger sample size as it uses ticketing data, oyster taps, train loadweigh and passenger counts, as opposed to the manual survey method of RODS which required a lot of scaling.
If this is not the information you are looking for, or if you are unable to access it for any reason, please do not hesitate to contact me.
