Bakerloo Line Extension - Sainsburys
Request ID: FOI-3635-1920
Date published: 25 March 2020
You asked
Sainsbury’s have a planning Application that is in a period of consultation that will end on the 15th March.
They plan two high tower blocks on lans above or adjacent to the proposed tunnelling of the Bakerloo line Extension and NXG Station.
We would like to request an FOI regarding TFL’s research and analysis into the impact of the foundations of these towers and development.
The research would focus on two questions:
1. Would large foundations as seen in the Sainsbury’s and Mount Anvil (S/MtA) application compromise or obstruct the preferred tunnelling route (were it to be given planning permission and built)?
2. a) Has there been a TFL case study modelled on the impact of the S/MtA on TFL’s proposed plans were they to be accepted?
b) Will tunnelling beneath the towers (were they to be given a green light) substantially complicate and financially compromise the delivery of the BLE?
