Thank you for your email which we received on 11 January 2024, asking for information about vehicle numbers in London, by year. Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act and our information access policy.
Unfortunately, we do not hold the information you have requested. The best source for traffic counts is the Annual Average Daily Flow traffic counts on the Department for Transport’s (DfT) datastore, available via the link you have referenced.
However, we can provide the number of vehicle kilometres (KM) travelled across the Transport for London Road Network – the capital’s red routes. If you are interested in this, please provide the period of time you are interested in.Outside of the roads we operate, we utilise the annual average flow data for all the roads in London as assessed by the DfT.
