We answered
TfL Ref: 3587-1819
Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 27 March 2019 asking for information about bus cleanliness reports.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold some of the information you require.
TfL does not hold details of daily cleansing reports, as bus cleaning is the responsibility of the bus operators. You would need to contact the bus operators directly to see if they record this information this way.
TfL does, however, survey vehicle cleanliness through the Customer Experience Survey, which is a mystery shopper style survey. The chart below lists the Internal Cleanliness scores for the routes requested, from 5th January 2019 – 24th March 2019. This is the data range available which most closely coincides with the date range you requested, 1st February – 24th March 2019. The network average is also included for comparison.

As a guide to interpretation, the table below indicates how the cleanliness of bus floors is scored. A score of 60, for example, would indicate that bus floors are somewhere between “some evidence of dirt” and “very little evidence of dirt”. All sections are scored similarly, and 100 is very hard to achieve.
Excellent - no evidence of dirt, dust, staining, marks, fluids or spillages
100
Good - very little evidence of dirt, dust, staining, marks, fluids or spillages
75
Moderate - some evidence of dirt, dust, staining, marks, fluids or spillages
50
Poor - large areas of dirt, dust, staining, marks, fluids or spillages
25
Extremely poor - extensive areas of dirt, dust, staining, marks, fluids or spillages
