Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 27 March 2019 asking for information about local area bus information poster costs.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.  I can confirm that we hold some of the information you require. You asked: Please advise the cost of producing a local area bus information poster that shows a list of routes in a specific area. Also advise the circumstances when they are to be changed.

The cost of the spider maps vary depending on the number of sites each one is posted at and the number we need to print, but the production cost is around £1,500 - £2,000 each (design, print and posting).

For budgetary reasons, we only update the maps if there are major permanent service changes. Further, if there are several service changes happening over a few months that affect the same spider maps, we will update them together in line with the latest dated service change.  We are currently reviewing the process.
