Request ID: FOI-3581-2223 Date published: 21 April 2023
You asked
I would like to know how many staff at pay band 3 and above are previous TfL graduate scheme or apprentice scheme (since 2010)
If this list too exhaustive then please only include bands 4 and 5 and a break down of their mode and area such as LU, Operations. If the list is too exhaustive then please only include LU Operations. If possible please include job title. I would like this for those in post from April 2023. Thank you

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 30 March 2023 asking for information about Graduates.
Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and our information access policy. I can confirm that we do hold the information you require.
Please see the attached spreadsheet. There are some caveats:
Hierarchy is the currently active hierarchy, and does not denote where the employee was when they were a graduate or apprentice, but where they are now as a Band 3 or Above
A scheme start date after the earliest date supplied by the requestor was used to include employees. Anyone who began a scheme prior to 2010 but finished it after 2010 is not included.
Apprentices were defined by an apprentice grade, or an apprentice “qualification” object. Since 2017 Apprenticeships have been open to existing employees who keep their substantive grade, so to identify them a range of “Qualification” objects in SAP were created as flags for reporting purposes.
Graduates have defined grades, this was used as an identifier
If an Employee has been both a Graduate and an Apprentice since the beginning of the timeframe they are only counted as a Graduate.
Mode isn’t really used in the Hierarchy anymore, but we have included it as an additional column below the Chief Area level (as Chiefs may have multiple modal areas below them).
If this is not the information you are looking for, or if you are unable to access it for some reason, please do not hesitate to contact me.
If you are not satisfied with this response please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.
Yours sincerely
