TfL Ref: FOI-3578-2223
Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 30th March 2023 asking for information about the Strategic Road Network in Barnet.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.
Specifically you asked:
βPlease can you provide details of the roads in London Borough of Barnet that form part of the Strategic Road Network (SRN) of London. Please include the name of the roads and the length within the borough and the name of the ward.β
I am afraid that TfL does not hold the requested information. There are 20,454 kms of road within the Greater London Authority boundary of which the London Strategic Road Network accounts for 587.7km. Of those, only approximately 2km are managed by Transport for London. None of these roads form part of the National Strategic Road Network, which is managed by National Highways (see here: https://nationalhighways.co.uk/our-roads/roads-we-manage/).
The London Strategic Road Network was designated by the Secretary of State for Transport in βThe Traffic Management (Strategic Roads in Greater London) Designation Order 2005β, which can be viewed at https://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2005/476/contents/made
I am afraid that TfL does not hold a breakdown at the level of detail requested for these roads within the London Borough of Barnet. However, note that a Mayoral Question was answered on this subject in December 2021, a copy of which can be found on the GLA website here:
