We answered

TfL Ref: 3573-1920

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 15 February 2020 asking for a copy of our London Underground evacuation policy for customers with hidden disabilities.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act and our information access policy. You asked for a copy of our policy for helping customers with hidden disabilities evacuate our stations.

Unfortunately we do not hold the information you have requested as we do not hold a specific policy for the evacuation of customers with hidden disabilities from our tube stations. Our customer evacuation plans are specific to each tube station as the layouts and infrastructure differs across our network. These follow agreed criteria to ensure the safe evacuation of all customers. Our plans include arrangements for disabled customers such as wheelchair users, hearing impaired, vision impaired, other mobility impaired and customers with learning disabilities. Therefore if a customer with a hidden disability approached a member of staff in the event of an evacuation additional help and support can be provided. Staff are trained and competent to provide this additional support.

Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.

Yours sincerely
