We answered

Our Ref:         FOI-3543-2324

Thank you for your request received on 8 January 2024 asking for information about defibrillators used on our network.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold some of the information you require. You asked for:

•           The number of times defibrillators have been used in your stations in 2023

Since October 2023, defibrillators have been installed at all London Underground stations. There were a total of 58 known usages of these defibrillators throughout 2023. This includes actual pads on and any requests for a defibrillator but not used, (i.e. on standby at an incident that could be a possible or turn into a cardiac arrest incident). This figure also includes incidents where the defibrillator has been asked to be used off station site as all London Underground defibrillators are publicly accessible.

•           The location of each defibrillator's use in 2023.

Please see the requested information in the attached spreadsheet.

•           The outcome of each defibrillators use in 2023

We do not hold this information.

•           The number of times a defibrillator has been vandalised in 2023.

We are aware of two occasions in which defibrillators were vandalised, one incident at Hillingdon and the other at Uxbridge. Some units may have been vandalised but if they are still operational this may not be recorded.

If this is not the information you are looking for, or if you are unable to access it for any reason, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.

Yours sincerely
