Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 27 March 2023 asking for information about Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold the information you require. You asked:

We can advise that all employees new to TfL will require a DBS check before they commence their employment, this includes tube drivers.
There is currently no requirement to initiate further DBS checks for tube drivers during their employment.
For third party companies that operate services on our behalf, such as London Buses, London Overground, Elizabeth line and the Docklands Light Railway, DBS checks will be conducted by the individual employer.
If this is not the information you are looking for, or if you are unable to access it for any reason, please do not hesitate to contact me.
