Request ID: FOI-3511-1819
Date published: 15 April 2019
You asked
Does tfl have a list of the various radio modes and channels that used to be in use on the driverside radio panel pre connect radio.
I think I might have also previously asked, but does Tfl also have a list of all the options and sub options available on the 1995 stock tms.
We answered
Our ref: FOI-3511-1819/GH
Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 21 March 2019 asking for information about London Underground.
Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and our information access policy. I can confirm that we do hold some of the information you require. Unfortunately information held is very limited as this equipment has not been in use for some time. There were two radio systems before CONNECT on the Northern Line Trains – there was an “Interim Radio System” – based on the old Storno Radio System but with new train radios, then the Motorola NL Trunk Radio” system (see attached) then the current CONNECT radio system.
Attached is a photograph of the 1995TS Cab radio panel prior to CONNECT (Trunk Radio) and a short PowerPoint of the Northern Line Trunk Radio showing the changes from the Interim Radio System.
Information regarding the options and sub options available on the 1995 stock tms is also attached. This is all the relevant information we were able to locate, so I hope you will find it useful.
If you are not satisfied with this response please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.
Yours sincerely
