TfL Ref: FOI-3502-1819
Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 21st March 2019 asking for information about the cost of the Oxford Street project under the Healthy Streets Programme.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold the information you require.
You will be aware that Westminster Council has decided not to take forward the proposed Oxford Street project. The total cost incurred on developing the scheme was £9.9m, which included £1.5m spent on delivering new and improved facilities for pedestrians and cyclists at six junctions along Wigmore Street. Money that was previously allocated by TfL to the transformation of Oxford Street has now been re-allocated to help accelerate a number of schemes across London designed to create safer, healthier and less polluted streets. These include new high-quality cycle routes in Greenwich, Hackney and Hounslow.
If this is not the information you are looking for please do not hesitate to contact me.
Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.
Yours sincerely,
