I would like to find out if your travel free police scheme includes specials from Essex and surrounding areas. this seems to be a grey area, the met police get issued oyster cards..

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 10 March 2023 asking for information about free travel for police officers.
Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and our information access policy. I can confirm that we do hold the information you require.
Special constables from the Essex Police force are not eligible for free travel on TfL services.
“Surrounding areas” in your question isn’t a clear definition, but special constables from Kent, Hertfordshire, Surrey and Thames Valley Police forces are not eligible either.
