Thank you for your request asking for information about Crossrail2.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act and our information access policy. We do not hold the information you require.

As you may be aware, Crossrail 2 has two possible route alignments in this area of London – one via Tooting Broadway and one via Balham. Currently no final decisions have been made regarding which alignment is preferred. We are continuing to look at different potential tunnel alignments to minimise the land take within the vicinity of Tooting Broadway station, and at ways to minimise impact to Tooting Market.

The project hopes to submit a Hybrid Bill, which would give the powers to construct Crossrail 2, to Parliament in the early to mid 2020s which if passed could allow construction to begin in the mid 2020s. Crossrail 2 is still at an early stage of design and no final decisions have been made on the route, stations or worksites.
