How many complaints have you received in relation to dogs on public transport in the last calendar year? Please provide a breakdown per transport mode.

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 6 March 2019 asking for information about the number of complaints received by TfL in relation to dogs on public transport in the last calendar year broken down by transport mode. 

 

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.  I can confirm that we hold some of the information you require.  

 

We have received 91 complaints about dogs and public transport for the period January 1^st to December 31^st 2018 on our customer services database located using key words of ‘dog’, ‘dogs’, ‘puppy’ and ‘puppies’.  53 of the complaints related to the presence of dogs on public transport, and the remaining 38 were about dogs being refused access or a passenger with a dog being told to go to the top deck of the bus.
