We answered

TfL Ref: 3320-1819

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 6 March 2019 asking for information about the cost of managing London bus traffic flow over Hammersmith Bridge.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.  I can confirm that we hold the information you require.  Your questions and our replies are below:

Does Transport for London pay for/pay towards the cost of these stewards or traffic management?

TfL pays for the deployment of marshals to control the flow of buses crossing Hammersmith Bridge allowing only one bus in each direction on the bridge at a time.  This is due to a weight restriction applied to the bridge due to structural limitations.

In relation to the above question, if so, what is the cost to TfL for this?

The cost to TfL is £275k per annum.
