Hi, I would like to know your cleaning regime working with ABM regarding the cleaning of all tube stations including lifts, escalators, floors, stairs etc. How it works with staffing, shift patterns, how many hours are spent on each stations etc?

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 6 March 2023 asking for information about the cleaning regime of tube stations.
Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and our information access policy.
I can confirm that we do hold the information you require, however, we are refusing your request under section 14(1) of the Act. We consider that providing the requested information would place an unreasonable burden on us at this time. The cleaning regime varies hugely between each station, with large/busy stations requiring far more attention than smaller stations with less footfall. Therefore, compiling the information, across the London Underground network would be a huge task. We therefore consider that answering this request would represent a disproportionate effort and would require the redirection of limited specialist resources and the attention of staff away from their core functions who could be supporting other essential activity.
We also consider that the details of our contract with ABM is subject to a statutory exemption to the right of access to information under section 43(2). In this instance the section 43(2) exemption has been applied as disclosure would, or would be likely to prejudice our commercial interests, as well as those of ABM.
I have, however, asked a colleague in London Underground to contact you, to see if they can assist you further, outside of the Freedom of Information process.
