You asked
From the Hammersmith and Fulham Council website on 21 march, 2018, £150,000 of improvements to Putney Bridge Station would be carried out, funded by Fulham Football Club, as part of their Riverside Stand development approval.
As that stand is now structurally complete, with extra numbers causing a huge inconvenience, particularly on weekend evenings, to residents and commuters trying to use the station at the same time, please can you answer the following request:
How has this £150,000 been spent on improving Putney Bridge Station? As there are no visible signs of this work being already carried out, please provide timelines for its utilisation. Further, please provide a summary of the plan of works.
Despite being an interchange station for the bus network and being used by tens of thousands of football supporters on match days, as well as local residents daily, there is no step free access. For the last two weeks 20% of the turnstiles have not work. The passenger information displays NEVER display correct train information. On match days on workdays, commuters are forced down a dingy decrepit and narrow set of stairs, often surrounded by pushing football fans. At the bottom, TFL seems unable to have more than two working ticket scanners.

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 10 December 2023 asking for information about Putney Bridge Station Improvements.
Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Environmental Information Regulations and our information access policy. I can confirm that we do hold the information you require.
The funds were originally negotiated in 2013 with the original planning permission, and then this was re-secured in 2017 when the new application came in. The s106 agreement was signed on 10 December 2018, and the borough confirmed receipt of the funds on 19 December 2019.
With the Covid-19 pandemic and TfL’s significant financial constraints, work did not progress on developing proposals for any station works. As such, the funds remain with the borough until such time we can progress work to spend them. Officers are committed to exploring opportunities now to use these funds but I would note that while this level of funding could support e.g. feasibility work into improvements it could not deliver SFA or infrastructure works themselves which have significantly higher costs (and would need other funding identified for delivery).
Please let me know if this is not the information you are looking for. If you are not satisfied with this response please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.
Yours sincerely
