My request is for two specific points. 1) I would like to know when Kingston upon thames became a low emission zone and as such cameras began to record vehicles contravening this zone and generating charges. 2) specifically, when was the signage erected marking the perimeter of the zone, more specifically when was the signage erected at the junction of South Lane, Malden Way and the Kingston Bypass /A3.

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 1 March 2023 asking for information about Royal Borough of Kingston LEZ.
Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and our information access policy. I can confirm that we do hold some of the information you require.

I can confirm that the LEZ went live on 4 February 2008.

With regards to the signage we do not hold the exact dates of installation as this dates back over 15 years, but we can confirm that the signs were installed and ready for the schemes launch.
