You asked

In August 2019 you disclosed, following an information request from myself, a document titled ‘ABM: Equality and Diversity Policy/Strategy plan 2019/20 (FOI-1179-1920/GH). I am now seeking information on the implementation and progress of ABM’s Equality and Diversity Strategy and TfL’s monitoring thereof. With reference to the statement by TfL that ‘ABM UK will be tracked on the delivery of their plan throughout the contract. (https://tfl.gov.uk/info-for/media/press-releases/2017/august/transport-for-london-awards-new-cleaning-contract-to-abm-uk), I am seeking answers to the following questions: 1. With reference to ‘ABM: Equality and Diversity Policy/Strategy plan 2019/20, Objective 1 – the document notes that success will be measured by the gathering of data on all four characteristics at a contract level by November 2019. Will you please disclose this data, which will already have been anonymised? Please also disclose how this has been reported to TfL and what actions will be taken as a consequence? 2. With reference to Obective 2 (creating a diverse workforce) will you please disclose what review of ABM’s recruitment policy has taken place and what actions have been taken? What was the involvement of the recognised union in this process? 3. With reference to Obective 5 (creating safe and hygienic work conditions) – please will you disclose ABM’s ‘full H&S strategy and implementation plan’, dates when the H&S committees have met and the results of the culture surveys. Please disclose also the number of site incidents reported in each year since 2017. Finally, please also disclose what involvement recognised union representatives have in this plan.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our Information Access Policy. You asked:

In August 2019 you disclosed, following an information request from myself, a document titled ‘ABM: Equality and Diversity Policy/Strategy plan 2019/20.I am now seeking information on the implementation and progress of ABM’s Equality and Diversity Strategy and TfL’s monitoring thereof.

We don’t hold the data for ABM’s Equality and Diversity (E&D) Strategy as it is owned and managed by ABM directly – therefore we are not the information owners and are unable to provide the requested information.

We conducted an E&D audit on ABM in January 2020, which is due to be finalised in March 2020.
