Santander cycle docking stations maintenence

This freedom of information request is to enquire about the frequency of servicing of the docking stations for the Santander hire cycles. I would like to know:- (i) What is the service interval for the maintenance of each docking station (ii) What proportion of the docking stations require repair adjustment at each service.

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 20th February 2023 asking for information about the maintenance of cycle hire docking stations.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. 

I can confirm that we hold the information you require. Your questions are answered in turn below:

Question 1: What is the service interval for the maintenance of each docking station?

Answer: Docking Station Preventative maintenance is carried out on each station at least once a year.

Question 2: What proportion of the docking stations require repair adjustment at each service?

Answer: Of the services which have taken place in the last 12 months, 2% have resulted in repair.
