F/on from FOI-2666
Many thanks for the answer
However, you didn’t fully answer my question. I have previously been told that the spare parts needed to be customised (I was even sent a list breakdown of parts back in May).
It is the question about engineer error that I’d like you to answer as it’s my understanding the customised parts were delivered but the escalator was then incorrectly operated.

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 21 November 2023 asking for information about Cutty Sark escalators.
Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and our information access policy. I can confirm that we do hold the information you require.
Further to the previous FOI responses in which we provided information regarding the status of the repairs to the escalators at Cutty Sark, the refurbishment of escalator 2 is currently in the final stages of commissioning.
Stringent health and safety procedures are in place for the testing of machinery to ensure the safety of staff and equipment. The escalators are designed to operate in both directions, and it is incorrect that the escalator was incorrectly operated. We are unsure how the member of staff you spoke to became misinformed; we are working closely with our Franchisee to ensure that all our staff at Cutty Sark provide accurate information in future.
If you are not satisfied with this response please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.
Yours sincerely
