Thank you for your email received by us on 20 January 2018 asking for information about the new ibus announcement.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold the information you require. You asked for:

the total cost of recording and installing the latest nanny announcement 'Please hold on.The bus is about to move'. Do we REALLY need such nonsense? The bus is usually trundling down the road by the time nanny is heard.

I can advise that there were no additional recording or installation costs associated with the implementation of the ‘Please hold on. The bus is about to move' announcement. We create a range of different announcements using existing technology and resources.

This was a trial conducted to find out whether an announcement, such as ‘Please hold on. The bus is about to move', helps reduce on-board customer injuries, particularly from trips and falls. The trial finished on 9 February 2018. After this we will be looking at whether the trial has been effective.
