We answered

TfL Ref: FOI-2987-2122

Thank you for your revised request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 24 March 2022.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.  I can confirm that we hold the information you require. You asked:
  • A list of all route diversions operated for route 456 including the following information;
    • Date and time diversion commenced
    • Date and time diversion was removed
    • Route of diversion (if recorded)
Please see the attached file in response to the above questions.
As mentioned earlier, there have only been short term diversions as a result of road works, local events, blockages (e.g. collisions) and other instances outside of TfL’s control, since the route 456 commenced.
    • If the diversion resulted in additional operating resource, and if so what the resource was and the cost of such resource.

None of the diversions have required additional resources.

While short-term diversions can impact reliability and waiting times for passengers, they tend to only affect passengers for a limited period of time. A permanent re-routeing or long-term diversion with an increase in length of route and running time would require additional operational resource at significant cost in order to maintain a reliable service.

If this is not the information you are looking for, or if you are unable to access it for any reason, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal as well as information on copyright and what to do if you would like to re-use any of the information we have disclosed.

Yours sincerely
