You asked

Dear Sir or Madam, I'd be grateful if you could provide me with the following information: 1) How many London Overground customers (or people in general if easier) were injured and/or taken ill at each London Overground station per month (or other time period if that's all you have available) over the past two years (or other appropriate time period if you don't have the data for two years). I understand that under the Act I am entitled to a response within 20 working days of your receipt of this request. Some parts of the request may be easier to answer than others. Should this be the case, I request that you release information as soon as possible. If my request is denied in whole or in part, I ask that you justify all deletions by reference to specific exemptions of the act. I will also expect you to release all non-exempt material. I reserve the right to appeal your decision to withhold any information or to charge excessive fees. I would prefer to receive the information electronically. If you require any clarification, I expect you to contact me under your section 16 duty to provide advice and assistance if you find any aspect of this FOI request problematic. Please acknowledge receipt of this request, and I look forward to receiving the information in the near future.

We answered

Dear

TfL Ref: FOI-2925-1718

Thank you for your email received by us on 13 January 2018 asking for information about the number of customers injured or taken ill at London Overground stations. Please accept my apologies for the delay in responding to your request.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold some of the information you require. You asked:

“How many London Overground customers (or people in general if easier) were injured and/or taken ill at each London Overground station per month (or other time period if that's all you have available) over the past two years (or other appropriate time period if you don't have the data for two years).”

The safety of customers is our number one priority and we take all incidents of injury seriously . In the event that customers are taken ill whilst travelling, the advice we give is to notify a member of station staff who will be able to assist them.

London Overground serves 112 stations, but only 81 are managed by Arriva Rail London (ARL), who operate London Overground on Transport for London’s behalf. The attached documents only include data on customers taken ill or injured at the stations managed by ARL. Stations may not have been included or the table left blank if there were no injuries or illness recorded for that year.

If this is not the information you are looking for, or if you are unable to access it for any reason, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal as well as information on copyright and what to do if you would like to re-use any of the information we have disclosed.

Yours sincerely
