Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 20 December 2019 asking for information about Bus statistics in Peckham.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold the information you require.
There are 15 day routes (of which 6 are 24 hour) and 5 night only routes that pass through Peckham. These are listed below with 24-hour routes shown in bold font:
12, 36, 37, 63, 78,171, 177, 197, 343, 345, 363, 381, 436, P12, P13, N63, N89, N171, N343, N381.
Attached is occupancy data for each of these routes for the AM and PM peaks. These show the level of occupancy compared with planning capacity across each route. The busiest the route at a given location, the closer to 100% planning capacity and the more crowded it will be. The colour scheme shows occupancy in heat map form with red showing busier buses and green emptier buses. None of the routes show overcrowding or demand over planning capacity.
Planning capacity is 90% of total vehicle capacity to give resilience against loss of capacity caused by imperfect reliability. The weekday peaks have been selected as this is when the network is at its busiest and when buses are most heavily occupied.
Below is a link to route performance information that is available to the public via the TfL website. Via the link they can access every bus route individually in London including the routes listed above. It is regularly updated and shows excess waiting time performance over time: https://tfl.gov.uk/forms/14144.aspx
