TfL Ref: FOI-2873-2425
Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 4th December 2024 asking for information about bus route 969.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.
Question 1: since January 2024- up to November 2024 what are the passenger numbers From Roehampton to whitton on Tuesday and the same question for Friday?
Answer:The first spreadsheet attached provides the route 969 boarders broken down by date, route and stop between 1 January 2024 and 30 August 2024. This has been extracted from our ticketing database and captures Oyster and Contactless Payment Card usage. Due to a technical issue data is not held beyond 30th August 2024. Note also that we are not able to specify the direction at the moment, so the attached dataset contains demand in both directions. Question 5 is also answered by the attached dataset as it contains boarders by stop.
In order to protect personal data, where boarders are less than 5 people this is shown as ‘<5’ (which applies to almost all rows given the route 969 sees very low usage). Stops with zero demand are not included in the dataset, so if a stop is missing on a particular date, this means there were no boarders reported on the day.
Finally, note that you can use the BUSTO dataset available at https://crowding.data.tfl.gov.uk/ to find boarders on the route 969 split by direction, and boarders at every stop are displayed in full as these are averages for a typical day in autumn 2023.
