Our ref: FOI-2861-2223/GH
Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 5 February 2023 asking for information about ULEZ.
Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Environmental Information Regulations and our information access policy. I can confirm that we do hold some of the information you require.
The number of employees working for TfL, to include subcontractors;
We currently have 25,810 permanent staff, and 1,986 non-permanent staff.
b) Of the numbers in a) above, how many are issued with free ULEZ permits and provide a copy of the policy document in this regard? c) Specifically, confirm whether the Mayor of London and his family are issued with a free ULEZ permit? d) Specifically, confirm whether the deputy Mayor of London and his family are issued with a free ULEZ permit? e) The total number of free permits issued by TfL to its staff and subcontractors?
The regulations governing the ULEZ do not provide discounts or exemptions for TfL staff, contractors or any employees of the Mayor’s office. The regulations do not provide for ‘free permits’.
f) Does the Mayor of London, drive or is driven in a ULEZ compliant vehicle and disclose the number of vehicles used by him which are (i) ULEZ compliant (ii) non ULEZ compliant? g) Of the vehicles that are non-ULEZ compliant, how does this support Mayor's ULEZ policy on the current operational and ULEZ Expansion? h) Is the Mayor subject to issuance of PCNs for using non-compliant vehicles? If so, how many PCNs have been served on him and of this, how many were settled and provide proof thereof?
Requests relating specifically to the Mayor should be directed to his office: [email protected]As outlined above there are no ULEZ discounts or exemptions from the ULEZ for the Mayor.
