Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 9th November 2023 asking for information about private bus and coach companies that have access through bank junction, Bishopsgate and all other bus gates.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.
Specifically you asked:
“I'm wondering if you can give me a list of all the private bus and Coach companies that have access through bank junction, Bishopsgate and all other bus gates. Peppa pig party buses etc etc.”.
TfL does not hold the exact information requested, in that we do not have “a list” of private bus and coach companies that are permitted through bus gates. However, that said, the buses that are permitted through gates are dependant on the restrictions that apply, which are limited to the following:
Except Buses - any vehicle with more than eight seats plus the driver (this includes TfL buses, express coaches, tour buses, tourist coaches and minibuses).
Except Local Buses - TfL services and those commercial bus and coach services with a London Service Permit (such as most open top buses and National Express).
As long as the vehicle meets the specifications they are permitted to use the gate.
