TfL Refs: FOI-2844-2122 to FOI-2849-2122
Thank you for your six requests of 11th March 2022, all detailed below.
Your requests have been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act and our information access policy.
I can confirm that we hold some of the information you require. However, under section 12 of the FOI Act TfL is not required to provide information if it would cost more than £450 to determine if that information is held, and to then locate, retrieve or extract that information from elsewhere. This is calculated at a rate of £25 per hour, equivalent to 18 hours work. For the purposes of calculating costs, any requests from the same individual for the same or similar information received within any period of 60 consecutive working days can be aggregated. This applies in this instance and the cost of compliance for each of your 6 cases has been aggregated.
The costs limit applies largely - but not exclusively - on account of case references FOI-2844-2122 and FOI-2845-2122, where the requested information would require the input of a number of different teams and individuals and the interrogation of a number of separate systems and records. There is no particularly quick or efficient way of sourcing all of this information, and we estimate that to do so would exceed the 18 hour limit.
In order to bring your requests within the costs limit you may therefore wish to narrow the scope of the information requested, focussing on that which is of most importance to you. For example, if your requests were restricted to cases FOI-2846-2122, FOI-2847-2122, FOI-2848-2122 and FOI-2849-2122 then we believe this would be achievable within the costs limit. Note that any refined request you may choose to submit will be treated as a new request with a new deadline.
Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.
Yours sincerely,
David Wells FOI Case Officer FOI Case Management Team General Counsel Transport for London
