Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 5 March 2022, asking for information about the notice of events for road closures on the R5/R10 bus route and fines issued to utility companies.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold some of the information you require. You asked:
Please also advise me on the full history of notice of events for road closures we have endured over the last 3 years on the R5/R10 bus route specific to Cudham Lane, North and South. We only hold road closure data from October 2020 onward.
There were 20 road closures between 5 October 2020 and 14 February 2022 for the following reasons:
7no. – Telecoms works 1no. – Gas Main replacement 5no. – Carriageway resurfacing or maintenance 1no. – Carriageway collapse 3no. – Water main replacement or connection 3no. – Burst water main
In addition, we have obtained the following information from the London Borough of Bromley:
Cudham Lane North – 16 times in 3 years Cudham Lane South – 12 times in 3 years
Please also advise me of fines issued to the various utility companies/other organisations in relation to these continual road closures.
We are not the highway authority for Cudham Lane and therefore not responsible for any charging of or enforcement against companies undertaking roadworks on that specific road. Please contact the London Borough of Bromley for this information.
