Would you please be able to provide me with the following data relating to the 234 bus route operated by Metroline? Metroline have asked me to contact TfL direct as they are unable to provide any data. • The number of general complaints relating to the 234 bus service for the past 5 years. • The number of complaints relating to 'drivers / driving standards' on the 234 bus route for the past 5 years. • The number of accidents / collisions / near misses relating to the 234 bus route for the past 5 years. • The number of complaints relating to all Metroline bus services for the past 5 years. • The number of complaints about 'drivers / driving standards' relating to all Metroline bus services for the past 5 years. • The number of accidents / collisions / near misses relating to all Metroline bus services for the past 5 years. How all of the above data compares to other bus operators over the past 5 years? I wish to see how Metroline's performance compares to other operators.

Thank you for your request which we received on 31 January 2023, asking for information about the 234 bus route.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act) and our information access policy.  I can confirm TfL does hold the information you require. You asked for:
  • The number of general complaints relating to the 234 bus service for the past 5 years.
209 cases.
  • The number of complaints relating to 'drivers / driving standards' on the 234 bus route for the past 5 years.
111 cases.
  • The number of complaints relating to all Metroline bus services for the past 5 years.
24,299 cases. Please note that this is based on keywords including Metroline and Metroline West.
 
  • The number of complaints about 'drivers / driving standards' relating to all Metroline bus services for the past 5 years.

13,359 cases. Please note that this is based on keywords including Metroline and Metroline West.

All complaints data is from as far back as we could go – May 2017.
  • The number of accidents / collisions / near misses relating to all Metroline bus services for the past 5 years.
  • The number of accidents / collisions / near misses relating to the 234 bus route for the past 5 years.
