Date published: 17 December 2024

You asked

F/on from FOI-2518 Please could you clarify why are there no minutes for the IDAG meetings on 11 July and 22 August?

We answered

Our ref: FOI-2827-2425/GH

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 3 December 2024 asking for IDAG minutes.

Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and our information access policy. I can confirm that we do hold the information you require. Please accept my apologies that these minutes were not provided to you previously.

Please find the minutes attached.

Minutes 11 July 2024

Please note that some information has been redacted as it is subject to a statutory exemption to the right of access to information under section 31 – Law Enforcement, which exempts from disclosure information which would, or would be likely to prejudice the apprehension or prosecution of offenders or the exercise of functions for the purpose of ascertaining whether any person has failed to comply with the law.

The use of this exemption is subject to an assessment of the public interest in relation to the disclosure of the information concerned. We recognise the need for openness and transparency by public authorities, but in this instance feel that balance lies in favour of withholding the information to ensure that we are able to continue to take action against any person who has failed to comply with the law.

Minutes 22 August 2024

Please note that the IDAG Meeting Minutes were captured and issued without formal review by TfL and contain some inaccuracies.

TfL Clarifications comment: 'At present there are four doors in the centre, the new ones have doors at the front and back.' This statement is incorrect - TfL Amendment: TfL explained that the position of the designated accessible doorways is changing. Currently two doors are located at front or rear of the existing trains, but the new trains will have 4 accessible doors positioned towards the centre.

The following statement was also captured incorrectly: 'The new trains will be 30mm lower leading to a bigger gap'. TfL amendment: Impacts will vary and steps are being undertaken to ensure impacts and risks are assessed on a case by case basis.  The installation of new platform humps is planned wherever the infrastructure allows, and the programme intends to retain those where they currently exist, to allow continued access to the existing trains during the fleet migration.

Further clarification is also required to contextualise the statement that 'Knightsbridge will be difficult because of the curvature of the platform and there will be one door that will not meet RVAR  (but the station is not currently step-free)'. TfL Amendment: Locations are under cross-departmental review to identify and assess risk and manage and implement appropriate mitigations.

Please let me know if this is not the information you are looking for, or if you are unable to access it for some reason.

If you are not satisfied with this response please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.

Yours sincerely
