Please can you let me know, based on station records:
* on how many days out of the last 30 for which figures are available was the eastern “gallery” exit of Aldgate East station open for the full duration of its advertised hours, and;
* where the entrance was operated on different hours for a given day or days, for what periods it was open.
For ease of reference an image indicating the advertised hours is attached.

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 31 January 2023 asking for information about Aldgate East station.
Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and our information access policy. I can confirm that we do hold the information you require – please see the attached document.
To open the station we have a minimum staff number requirement, if this isn’t met it has to remain closed. In most cases the Gallery end of the station has been closed as it allows the station to remain open at one member of staff lower than the full minimum numbers, hence we can still serve customers, although understand that it is not as convenient.
On the occasions highlighted in red, the whole station has remained closed for the times stated as we have not had the minimum requirement to open.
