Keeping our customers safe is at the forefront of everything we do on our network. Therefore there are some occasions where we have to urgently react to an emergency issue which is not planned.
The works in question (see attached for further details)were not planned but deemed as health and safety defects that required emergency works to be carried out. Prior customer notification is not required when works are classified as an emergency and TfL’s contractors were acting on our instructions. The location in question is on a Red Route therefore the management of highway defects is under TfL’s jurisdiction.
