Please note that the different validity of these tickets mean that many more daily and weekly tickets are sold than monthly or annual ones but the longer duration tickets have more journeys associated with them. Gold Cards are only available with an Annual Travelcard. The figures above are for sales from all outlets, including national rail.

On the 31st January 2018, there were 17,754 Oyster cards used which had a valid annual Travelcard and Gold Card.

3. What is the proportion of journeys made that have their fares frozen?

The Mayor’s fares freeze applies to all fares that are directly controlled by the Mayor. This includes all bus and tram fares and Oyster/Contactless pay as you go single fares. Travelcards and daily/weekly caps are governed by the Travelcard Agreement and other agreements whereby fares need to be agreed between TfL and the train operators. All TfL travel concessions continue to be maintained, ensuring that children, 16+ and 18+ photocard holders, those over 60, veterans, apprentices and those on Job Seeker’s Allowance continue to benefit from free or discounted travel. During the four years of the fares freeze, 96 per cent of public transport users across London will benefit from the freeze on TfL Fares, 7 million all of the time and 4 million some of the time.
