We answered

Our ref: FOI-2761-1718/GH

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 2 January 2018 asking for information about train cancellations on London Overground/Arriva Rail London and TfL Rail. I am sorry for the delay in replying.

Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and our information access policy. I can confirm that we do hold the information you require.

Please find attached spreadsheets showing all cancellations on London Overground/Arriva Rail London and TfL Rail services for 2017.

There can be a number of factors which lead to cancellations of our rail services, some of which are beyond our control. London Overground and TfL Rail continue to be amongst the best performing railways in the country. However, we are not complacent and are continually looking at ways we can further improve services for our customers, such as improvements to timetables, delivering more services and the introduction of brand new trains.

We will continue to work with our operators, Arriva Rail London for London Overground and MTR Crossrail for TfL Rail, and Network Rail to make improvements and deliver the best service we can and keep delays to a minimum.

If this is not the information you are looking for, or if you are unable to access it for some reason, please do not hesitate to contact me.

If you are not satisfied with this response please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.

Yours sincerely
