Request ID: FOI-2743-2324
Date published: 21 November 2023

You asked

Dear Sir/Madam. I would like to put in a freedom of information request asking about bus routes through Hail and Ride Marlborough Road, Dibdin Road, and Stayton Road. What I would like to request is information concerning if there is going to be a bus service covering the routes I described in this email. I have been hearing rumors that the routes are going to be scrapped next year and I have mobility issues. Scrapping this service would be a big inconvenience for me. Will the S3 still be running through the route I described or is there going to be another bus service going through the route I described? I understand that I will have to wait 20 working for your reply. Thank you. Yours Sincerely.

We answered

TfL Ref: FOI-2743-2324

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 30 October 2023 asking for information about bus routes through Hail and Ride for Marlborough Road, Dibdin Road, and Stayton Road.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm that we do hold the information you require.

There was a stakeholder and public consultation in 2020 regarding changes to the S3 bus route in the Sutton Common area. This consultation report is available using the following link: https://haveyoursay.tfl.gov.uk/11846/widgets/34077/documents/

The outcome of the consultation was that the S3 bus route will be rerouted in the Sutton Common area. However, the 470 bus route will instead run via Marlborough Road, Dibdin Road and Stayton Road to replace the S3 bus route, so no section of these roads would be unserved.

This close out decision is available on page 5 of the consultation report accessible using the following link: https://haveyoursay.tfl.gov.uk/11846/widgets/34077/documents/16823

We intend to implement these changes in early 2024.

If this is not the information you are looking for, or if you are unable to access it for any reason, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.

Yours sincerely,
