Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 27 December 2017 asking for a full breakdown of the costs incurred by LU/TfL for the LU Transformation.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold the information you require.

We are delivering the biggest ever overhaul of our organisation, cutting management layers and reducing duplication to deliver the savings needed for a modern, affordable, accessible and green transport network for all Londoners. Deloitte have supported work on London Underground’s (LU’s) operating model Transformation from June 2017 by providing organisational design expertise and best practice from other organisation’s operating model changes to ensure that LU’s operating model Transformation is delivered successfully.  The full costs of Deloitte’s work for LU to date are £562k.

TfL has reduced its operating costs by £153m in the last financial year, the first such reduction in its history, and already this year is exceeding budgeted operating cost savings by more than £138m.

Deloitte is continuing to work with LU on their organisation design and therefore further costs will be incurred.
