You asked

Follow on from FOI-2494-1920 I have some outstanding issues to your response please thank you. Response one 2004/5 you state 3,840,198 shifts should this be completed mileage? And if so, how is it you declare to the London Borough of Havering that the total completed mileage for that year was 2,114,650?A difference of 1,725,548. In your response to 2017/18 and 2018/19, you have only declared Dial a ride completed mileage. You have extracted your community transport, and DABD completed mileage. Please declare the actual mileage I requested please thank you. All community drivers and DABD drivers have an iPhone as well as your actual Dial a ride drivers. The system is set up that the driver cannot leave their depot until they enter their start mileage and on their return to the depot the last thing, they do is to enter the finish mileage they have to do this to enable the system to be completed. I understand your software calculates the dead mileage. In your response to 2018/19 you state shift mileage 2,893 can you clarify this as well, please I am of the opinion you are three-digit short? Thank you You did not confirm if Dial a ride claim Bus Service, Operators Grant. Can you kindly answer please thank you?

Our ref: FOI-2732-1920/GH

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 6 December 2019 asking for information about Dial A Ride.

Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and our information access policy. I can confirm that we do hold some of the information you require.

Response one 2004/5 you state 3,840,198 shifts should this be completed mileage? And if so, how is it you declare to the London Borough of Havering that the total completed mileage for that year was 2,114,650?A difference of 1,725,548.

We have double checked our figure and it is correct. If you could provide us with the source of this alternative figure we could try and identify why there is a discrepancy as his figure is not one that we recognise.

In your response to 2017/18 and 2018/19, you have only declared Dial a ride completed mileage. You have extracted your community transport, and DABD completed mileage. Please declare the actual mileage I requested please thank you.

We do not comprehensively hold a record of the ODO readings at the start and finish of shifts for all CT drivers so we are unable to provide the ‘completed mileage’ as per your definition that relates to them.

Drivers often make mistakes when entering their ODO readings on their mobile data terminals. For the DAR drivers we are able to reconcile erroneous entries after the event, but CTs do not always do this, so we do not use their readings as a data source. Our software does not calculate actual dead mileage, as drivers do not enter ODO readings during the course of their shift. The software can only estimate dead mileage based on the routing it has presumed.

In your response to 2018/19 you state shift mileage 2,893 can you clarify this as well, please I am of the opinion you are three-digit short? Thank you

Yes this is an error, the figure should have read 2,926,323. In checking these figures we have also realised another error in the 2017/18 vehicle mileage, this should have read 3,130,421 and not 2,889,994.

You did not confirm if Dial a ride claim Bus Service, Operators Grant. Can you kindly answer please thank you?

As stated in our previous response of 5 December, Dial-a-Ride do not claim Bus Service Operators Grant.

If this is not the information you are looking for please do not hesitate to contact me.
