TfL Ref: 2730-2021 Thank you for your request and further email received by us on 31 March 2021 asking for information about bus stop 55826, also known as Castell Road (towards Loughton or Epping). Please note the correct reference number for this request is 2730-2021 not 2728-2021 as previously quoted. Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold some of the information you require. I have summarised your request as below: (a) Policies and formal evaluation criteria (e.g. templates used to evaluate a cost-to-benefit ratio) on the location and relocation of bus stops: With respect to this part of my request, I am already aware, and do not require a copy, of the publication entitled "Accessible Bus Stop Design Guidance", available at http://content.tfl.gov.uk/bus-stop-design-guidance.pdf (b) Any correspondence, memoranda, evaluations of, or other information pertaining to the location of bus stop 55826, also known as Castell Road (towards Loughton or Epping) and carrying internal identification code 1500625 relating to when it was moved in around 2006 including the previous location and the reasons for it being moved. With respect to this part of my request, I do not require information relating to other attributes of this stop, e.g. how frequently it is served. I am only looking for information TfL hold relating to where it is physically located, and related information such as previous locations and reasons for relocation. Response: (a) The "Accessible Bus Stop Design Guidance" you refer to in your request is the best and only reference document regarding the siting of bus stops that we hold. (b) From the description you have given we believe this to be bus stop BP4755 on Chester Road - Reference: (SMS No. 55826, PIC#-N CASTELL ROAD -T LOUGHTON OR EPPING -20-575MF-"SCHOOL BUSES STOP HERE). Transport for London installed the stop on 16 May 2006, replacing a stop that had previously been owned by Epping Forest Council. This stop has not been re-sited since then. Work was carried out on 19 June 2019 to re level the stop after it was hit and damaged but the location was not change. We do not hold any records from 2006 that state if the bus stop was re-sited from the original position of the Epping Forest Council stop. You may want to contact Epping Forest Council directly to see if they hold the information you require: https://www.eppingforestdc.gov.uk/freedom-of-information/ If you are considering submitting a further FOI request please think carefully about whether the request is essential at this current time, as answering FOI requests will require the use of limited resources and the attention of staff who could be supporting other essential activity. Where requests are made, please note that our response time may be impacted by the current situation. If this is not the information you are looking for, or if you are unable to access it for any reason, please do not hesitate to contact me. Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal as well as information on copyright and what to do if you would like to re-use any of the information we have disclosed.
