Hello,
I wanted to know if you had predicted dates on when SMA 8 & SMA 9 would be completed on the Metropolitan Line?
Also if there is complications what are these?

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 31 October 2023 asking for information about 4LM.
Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and our information access policy. I can confirm that we do hold the information you require. The new automated signaling system introduced under the Four Lines Modernisation (4LM) programme, is now in place at 62 stations, already improving journeys on the whole of the Circle and Hammersmith and City lines, as well as the east end of the District line. The next stage is Signal Migration Area (SMA) 8, situated between Finchley Road and Preston Road on the Metropolitan line which is due to go live in 2024.SMA8 is the most complex area and requiresintegration of the new signalling system for the Metropolitan line with the Jubilee line and with Neasden Depot. This has created challenges in determining with confidence the precise date for SMA8 Go Live which is currently under review by the project team. The next section will be SMA 9, situated between Preston Road, Moor Park and West Harrow on the Metropolitan line. The challenges relating to SMA 9 include inter-operability with Chiltern Railway. SMA 9 is expected to be commissioned after SMA 8, with dates currently under review. If this is not the information you are looking for, please do not hesitate to contact me.
